Why be SPG

Let me take a moment to talk about one of my favorite hotel brands...Starwood Hotels & Resorts are comprised of 9 hotel brands which include the Westin, The Luxury Collection & W which I had the opportunity to experience on my recent trip to Spain.

As a Travel Consultant I took a few courses to become an SPGPro and along with that come some perks that you too can enjoy if you enroll in their program!

Take a look at all the benefits they have to offer: start with earning points with every stay that can be used for free stays in the future, VIP access to events and once you hit Gold receive welcome gifts and room upgrades- see below!

La Rotunda
Arriving a bit early before check in due to our international flight we were greeted at the Westin with an available room. "happy dance" They offered us an upgrade but the suite would not be ready till much later in the day or we could take the available room and receive complementary WiFi which we ended up doing. Even still our room had an extended seating area, a bottle of champagne and the signature Westin Heavenly Bed - which took a great amount of will power not to face plant into after our journey.

Hotel Marqués de Riscal

Marques de Riscal
Driving up to this structure is hard to describe- Frank Gehry's architecture is one of a kind and to be able to stay in one is something only The Luxury Collection can provide.  Again with being SPG Gold we were offered a room upgrade to an Executive Suite- views included!

W Barcelona

From the WetDeck
The W Barcelona is the only property in the city with direct access to the beach and known for rooms with amazing views...and of course got upgraded to the Fabulous Room which overlooks downtown Barcelona. As we were unpacking we got a knock at the door and a lovely gift of Cava and Chocolates were brought in for us to enjoy.
